ChronoCore

A cinematic desk sculpture: layered rings around a diffused energy-core centre.

Concept illustration of the ChronoCore, an Anachron design study. Not a photo of a manufactured product. Concept render — design not finalized

ChronoCore is a desk-scale sculpture: a glowing-looking core held inside layered rings, designed to be the centerpiece of a desk, shelf or display cabinet. It is the first artifact we are evaluating, and nothing about it is final yet.

The design idea

Concentric rings at slightly different angles, a diffused centre that reads as energy without needing to do anything, and a calm, instrument-like base. The aim is an object that looks engineered rather than decorated: restrained, precise and quietly cinematic.

What we are considering

  • Version one: a non-electronic display sculpture. No batteries, no wiring, no heat.
  • A possible lit version later — only if the extra cost, safety checks and reliability make sense. We will not describe lighting as a feature until a tested sample exists.
  • Materials, finish and size will be decided after comparing written supplier quotes.

Help shape it

If you would want a ChronoCore on your desk, join the Dispatch and tell us. Your replies decide whether it gets made, how large it should be and which finish feels right.

What we are trying to learn

  • Would you pay for a desk-scale sci-fi centrepiece?
  • Is a lit version worth a higher price than a static sculpture?
  • What size would suit your desk or shelf?
